In January 2025, the globally anticipated "Sichuan Lanterns Light Up The World" Chinese Lantern Global Tour arrived in the UAE, presenting its ingeniously crafted "Light-Painted China" creative lantern exhibition to the citizens and tourists of Abu Dhabi. This exhibition is not only a modern interpretation of traditional lantern craftsmanship by Haitian Culture, a representative of Chinese Lanterns, but also a cross-cultural exchange activity that deeply integrates culture and art.
The lantern works of the "Light-Painted China" exhibition, in the unique artistic form of painting with lanterns, combine the semi-relief craftsmanship of Zigong Lanterns, a traditional Chinese intangible cultural heritage, with modern display devices, breaking the framework of traditional lantern shows.
At the same time, artists from Haitian Culture innovatively selected materials such as beads, silk threads, sequins, and pom-poms, instead of the traditional fabric mounting. These new decorative materials not only make the lantern groups more three-dimensional and vivid, but also create a rich visual experience for the audience with colorful light and shadow effects under the illumination of lights, creating a brand-new design for external cultural exchange displays.
For the artistic installations of this exhibition, Haitian Culture adopted a modular assembly model, allowing the lantern installations to be flexibly configured according to different international exchange needs. Whether it is a large outdoor venue or a smaller indoor space, the display effect of the exhibition can be optimized to meet the needs of various cultural communication and exchange activities.
To further enhance the depth and interactivity of lantern culture dissemination, the exhibition set up bilingual Chinese-English explanation panels to help the audience understand the cultural stories behind each lantern group. It creates a multidimensional cultural platform in a new form, suitable for various occasions such as museums, exhibition halls, parks, squares, and commercial centers, immersing the audience in the charm of lantern art.
